3 Signs You Need to Replace Your Phone Charger

Posted by Frank Giordani on

A phone charger is an indispensable part of your phone, no matter if few companies have excluded it from the phone box and started selling it separately. It completes the phone — keeping it alive and bringing it back to use if its battery is already discharged. That said, many people pay little to no attention to their smartphone’s charger and use it mercilessly, day in and out. Little do they realize that, like any other gadget, it also comes with a limited lifespan, after which it needs replacement. But how do you know if it’s time to replace your old charger with a new one, preferably from Equipment Blowouts, Inc.

Here’s are a few signs you need to change your charger:

It won’t charge the phone

A charger that doesn’t charge the phone is as useless a piece as the case cover that neither protects your phone nor enhances its aesthetics. Just like you would buy a new, quality phone case, such as a Pelican Progear protector for Galaxy S6, from Equipment Blowouts, Inc. (you will find the best collection here), you will also need a new charger that meets the battery ampere requirements to charge your phone. So, if your phone charger has stopped charging completely and there are no signs of damage to the cord, you will most likely need to replace it.

It charges the phone slowly

Often, the primary reason for a slow charging phone is the faulty or broken charging cord. However, if the cable is new or in good condition, the problem may lie in the charger. You can check whether the cable is working or not by using it with another adapter that works perfectly. If it works, you will need a new charging adapter. If it doesn’t, you will need a new cable.

Damaged USB port in the charger

While this happens rarely, if you keep on removing the cable from the adapter to use it somewhere else, the USB port in the charger may loosen over time and result in a loose connection. Even if you try a new cable, it may fail to establish a secure and stable connection and may not charge your phone at all. If that’s the case, the best bet is to buy a new charger, such as an LG VX8300 travel charger or portable charger.
